The NEA works with global experts to advise member countries on the state of the art and the latest trends in nuclear technology. This work includes innovation and technology development at all stages of the nuclear fuel cycle, from the latest uranium enrichment technologies to the design and implementation of small modular reactors (SMRs). This work also covers disruptive technologies, such as additive manufacturing and artificial intelligence that could have a significant impact on the way nuclear power plants are designed, built or operated.
The NEA Committee for Technical and Economic Studies on Nuclear Energy Development and the Fuel Cycle (NDC) works in this area to advise decision makers and policy makers on the state of the art and latest trends in nuclear technology.
