The Working Group on the Regulation of New Reactors (WGRNR) examined the regulatory issues of the siting, licensing and regulatory oversight for all new commercial nuclear power reactors. The WGRNR focused specifically on construction inspection issues and share this experience with the other groups working under the aegis of the CNRA.
 
The WGRNR co-ordinated the activities of the CNRA and the Multinational Design Evaluation Programme (MDEP) in order to ensure that the MDEP's efforts take full advantage of the work already being done by the CNRA.

    The Working Group in Public Communication of Nuclear Regulatory Organisations (WGPC) provided a forum for nuclear regulatory organisation communicators and outreach officers to exchange information, experience, and practices. It also aimed to exchange views regarding the policies of nuclear regulatory organisations in the area of public communication and identified ways of promoting efficient collaboration between member countries.
