Members of the Council of Advisors aims to achieve both gender and geographical balance. One third of the membership rotates every two years.

The Council of Advisors’ role is to:

  • Identify good practices, facilitate shared activities and co-ordinate joint programmes of educational innovation.
  • Oversee the work and outputs of the Working Groups.

In addition, the Council of Advisors will:

  • Hold occasional symposia to highlight the Global Forum’s work and serve as a venue for experts from academic institutions, as well as other stakeholders, to identify emerging issues and creative solutions related to the strategic areas identified.
  • Host the yearly Global Nuclear Science and Engineering Commencement

Professor Richard K. Lester from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), is the current Chair of the NEA Global Forum on Nuclear Education, Science, Technology and Policy.
